…assists students to identify why building a positive community matters, (classroom, cohort, whole school, wider community etc). This seminar enables students to identify unconscious or conscious behaviours that are unhelpful and how to apply the skills to positively change their point of view (bully, victim and or bystander). Finally the seminar empowers students with the practices to know what to do to continue building a positive relationships and community.

As per the Australian National Curriculum’s Personal and Social Capabilities, students undertaking this seminar will be challenged to examine influences on and consequences of their emotional responses in a learning and social contexts; select, use and analyse strategies that assist in regulating behaviour and achieving personal goals articulate their personal value system and analyse the effects of actions that repress social power and limit the expression of diverse views, and; generate, apply and evaluate strategies such as active listening, mediation and negotiation to prevent and resolve interpersonal problems and conflicts.
