ABOUT US E-mail
Our approach is not that of ‘me guru - you dumb disciple.’ Rather one of a mutual learning environment. It is not a case of here’s our seminar - hope it fits your situation.

We are committed to working with you to identify the most effective program for your students.

Peer Power seminars are a lively combination of information and interaction, so that the students take part in an enjoyable learning experience. Through these seminars, a framework is created allowing the students to think through the issues and apply the lessons individually.

These seminars are user friendly for the students and school administration, as they are modular in format and can be tailored to suit your school’s timetable / schedule and student’s needs.

MICHAEL KNIGHT

A good education leaves a lot to be desired.

Starting his journey in Youth Work in 1984, when hair was the rage(?) today he’s far more aerodynamic having learnt from many of life’s lessons.  Along this journey Michael has focussed on, classroom and large scale seminar presentations, crisis counselling, adventure therapy (camping), administration organisational management and development.  Michael Knight is still learning, but has walked down the road of experience enough to be able to generate classroom dynamics that get results.

SAM BREWER

Data produces boredom, Images form questions, Imagination engages...

Upon graduating from Ivanhoe Grammar (where Sam grew a brain), he spent three years working with his hands (in industry - fashion and metal work).  Having earned some life experience, Sam re-entered the academic world gaining a university degree. Since 2000 Sam has been working as a youth worker and brings a breath of fresh air with his authentic approach to communication and engaging students and adolescent issues.

LAUREN LUCAS

To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping

Lauren is a passionate and motivated role model and mentor for young people (especially girls).  Like many of ‘Generation Y’ Lauren started her university life in one course and graduated in a completely different course.  But now knowing and utilising her passions, Lauren is a role model and mentor to many young people.  During these years Lauren has worked with a variety of different age groups; from teaching learn to swim with pre-schoolers to working as a diversional therapist in a retirement village.   With these experiences, Lauren has developed a specific interest in empowering healthy femininity and communicating dynamically to young people.

AUDRA McHUGH

Take the attitude of a student – never be too big to ask questions, never know too much to learn something new.

A warmer climate, higher education, and an addiction to curiosity caused Audra to move to Australia from Canada in 2006.  Flooding her brain with Psychology and Public Health awakened a keen desire to work with young people at a preventative level.  This interest contributed to her involvement in developing a healthy body image resource for young women, now used in high schools across Ontario.  Bringing a wealth of experience from work in health policy, drug counseling, fitness and dance instruction, Audra enriches her environment with challenging thoughts in a dynamic communication style.  Audra is passionate about passion fruit greek yogurt, orange coloured lamp shades, and singing into everyone’s hairbrushes.

SONJA BEVERIDGE

Boxes are for storage, not for people.

The world according to Sonja, is a laboratory of conversations and choices that open up the mysteries of life.  Her energy is invested in walking alongside young people through the best and worst moments of their journeys.  She uses her training in counselling and her mischievous sense of humour to promote sanity where there is often chaos.  Sonja admits to a “low level” manageable chocolate obsession and sings unashamedly at full volume in the car….especially to ABBA!   She is intentional in helping young people grab life with both hands, equipping them to discern healthy opportunities in the midst of overwhelming options.

DAN PATERSON

2B :) or not 2B :(  (“friends” on facebook) ... that is the Q?

Dan seeks to be a student of all things culture & knowledge. Youthful enthusiasm coupled with a plate full of naive dreams lead to pursuing a university degree, and bombing out after just 2 weeks (gotta be a record!). After a couple of years of working in a trade he once again embarked on the tertiary study challenge. Now he can’t stop. He continues to develop a keen interest in observing and analysing how young people think, see and live. With a fun yet provocative communication style, he desires to help teens navigate the crazy journey of adolescence, sparking conversations that unlock some of the wisdom he has stumbled upon along the way.
